Anything already in progress belongs on the phone, at any hour, and a real dispatcher picks it up rather than a call-centre router. The form underneath reaches the same dispatch and suits a quote or a booking with a date on it rather than a door you are standing at. Lead with the area rather than the street. This zone spans two municipalities and seventeen named areas, and the vans are staged on the North Shore side of the inlet, so what decides your number is whether you are standing in Lower Lonsdale or out at the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal.
Start with the area, then the street. Keith Road is the clearest reason why: the same road name runs past the strata townhome complexes of Upper Lonsdale, borders the southern edge of Pemberton Heights where Pemberton Avenue runs north off it, and climbs the slope out of the Horseshoe Bay cove, so the name on its own does not place you. Marine Drive runs the length of West Vancouver through Ambleside, Dundarave and Caulfeild, and the name turns up again on the North Vancouver side along the Norgate frontage. Montroyal Boulevard is shared between Upper Lonsdale and Edgemont Village. Once the area is fixed, the detail worth typing is what stands between a technician and the door: a lobby intercom, a visitor stall behind a gate that wants a buzzer code, or a driveway off a cul-de-sac with no through traffic.
There is no counter to walk into. Every van runs its own cutting machine and a stock of the hardware that fails most often, and none of them start the day across the water. The Lonsdale corridor still slows when everything leaving the North Shore converges on the Ironworkers Memorial and the Lions Gate, but that is a local delay, not a queue you are sitting behind. Trucks stay close to Lower and Central Lonsdale, climb for Lynn Valley and Capilano, and take the Dollarton corridor or Mount Seymour Parkway for the east side. Deep Cove, Caulfeild and the ferry terminal are the far ends of that, which is why each area page carries its own window instead of one figure for the whole North Shore.
Plenty of North Shore calls do not come from an address at all. The Quarry Rock trailhead lot off Panorama Drive, the Lynn Canyon and Lynn Headwaters lots, the Nordic trailhead off Grouse Mountain Road, the Capilano Suspension Bridge lot, the Lonsdale Quay parkade and the ski-area lots where Mount Seymour Parkway runs out all produce keys-locked-in-car calls, and naming the lot places you better than a street number that does not exist. Give the lot, then the make, model and year. An all-keys-lost at the top of the Parkway is the difference between cutting and programming a key where the car sits and paying to tow it down, and ownership is verified first, so have registration or insurance that matches your ID.
Two more things are worth saying out loud. If a sailing is the thing you are actually racing, name the boarding time and you get a yes or a no rather than a maybe; ask the terminal staff at the same time whether your car can sit out a lane for a few minutes, because they will sometimes allow it when the reason is real. And in the Lonsdale towers, losing the suite usually means losing the lobby with it, so dig out whatever number the lobby board lists for the concierge or the manager on call, or line up a neighbour who can buzz a technician through.
For planned work the brand matters more than the postal code. A Medeco rekey needs the existing key present, otherwise the cylinder is picked first and rekeyed after. The multi-point doors on the Chartwell and upper British Properties builds run European-profile cylinders rather than a North American deadbolt, so naming the make puts the right blanks and lock bodies on the van instead of booking a second visit. Say which way the door faces, too: a cylinder seized by salt air near the Dundarave seawall and one frozen on an Upper Lonsdale January morning are not the same repair.
