We supply and install Wi-Fi, keypad, and Bluetooth smart locks at North Vancouver homes and businesses — hardware built to handle the North Shore's damp winters, fitted by a licensed locksmith who makes sure the door closes cleanly before we leave.
If you're looking to swap a deadbolt for a smart lock in North Vancouver, the short answer is: yes, we do this, and same-day is almost always available. We bring the hardware — or install what you've already purchased — assess the door alignment, program the codes, connect the lock to your network if needed, and walk you through the app before we leave. No partial jobs, no locks that rattle in the frame when the temperature drops in January.
Every installation covers the full scope — there's no hidden charge for the steps that make the lock actually work:
Prices vary by lock type and whether you're supplying your own hardware or purchasing through us. The ranges below reflect the North Vancouver market — we confirm your exact quote on the phone before we arrive, so there are no surprises on the day.
| Job type | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Install a lock you've already purchased (deadbolt swap) | $80–$130 |
| Supply + install: keypad deadbolt (mid-range) | $220–$330 |
| Supply + install: Wi-Fi smart lock (Yale, Schlage, or equivalent) | $300–$460 |
| Supply + install: premium smart deadbolt with HomeKit / Matter support | $400–$620 |
| Door prep (bore adjustment, strike plate reinforcement) | $60–$120 add-on |
| Multi-door package (2+ locks at the same address) | Ask for a bundle price |
All ranges are typical for the North Shore market and depend on hardware grade, door condition, and any prep work needed. No commitment until you have a price you're comfortable with.
Tell us what you have — or what you'd like — and we'll confirm scope, give you a price range, and arrange a same-day or next-day slot. For urgent installs, same-day is almost always available across North Van and West Van.
The technician checks frame alignment, bore size, and the strike plate. Doors in older Lynn Valley houses or steeply-graded Deep Cove properties can shift seasonally — we correct any misalignment first, because a smart lock motor wears out fast fighting a sticky frame.
Lock goes in mechanically, then we handle the digital side: user codes, auto-lock timers, and app pairing. We don't leave until you can lock and unlock from your phone and from the keypad without any issues.
The North Shore sees more moisture than most of Metro Vancouver — condensation in Seymour and Lynn Valley, marine air through Deep Cove, and freeze-thaw cycles on exposed Edgemont Village and British Properties doors. Not every smart lock handles this equally well. We only carry hardware rated for outdoor use in humid climates; the cheaper Wi-Fi locks sold at big-box stores are often rated to IP44 at best, which is borderline for a North Van winter door.
Keypad deadbolts are the most resilient choice for exposed or north-facing doors — no cloud dependency, 12–18 months on standard batteries, and they work offline completely. We see these frequently on older Lonsdale houses and strata townhomes where the front door cop gets real weather.
Wi-Fi smart locks let you grant access remotely, receive door-open notifications, and set temporary codes — useful if you manage an Airbnb suite in Lower Lonsdale, have a housekeeper, or want to let a contractor in while you're commuting across the Second Narrows. Battery life is typically 6–12 months with normal use. These work best on sheltered entryways or when the lock is under an overhang.
Bluetooth-only locks offer a middle ground: no cloud, no Wi-Fi, no data leaving your home — appealing to privacy-minded owners in Capilano and Pemberton Heights. Auto-unlock as you approach is a genuinely useful feature when your hands are full of groceries. For remote access, you'd add a small bridge device. Range and reliability are good in most detached North Van houses where the router is close to the front door.
North Vancouver has a significant amount of strata-titled townhomes and condos — along Lonsdale, in Norgate, and through the newer Central Lonsdale mid-rises. If your door is strata-controlled, check the bylaws before choosing hardware. Most North Vancouver strata councils allow smart lock upgrades on individual suite doors, provided the lock meets fire-code requirements and doesn't alter the door frame without approval. We carry hardware that satisfies the common strata restrictions and can supply a product certification note if your council asks for one.
For basement suites and secondary rentals — the kind you find throughout Lynn Valley and Lynnmour — keypad locks are the cleanest solution. No re-keying when tenants turn over, no lost key costs, just a new code entered in thirty seconds. We've set up dozens of these across the North Shore and the turnaround is typically under an hour per door.
