Terms of Service

North Vancouver, BC
Our agreement,plain English.

These terms govern every service we provide in North Vancouver and the surrounding North Shore. We keep it straightforward — no legal labyrinth, just clear expectations on both sides.

Last updated: June 6, 2026. These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to all services provided by Fast Locksmith North Vancouver, operating under the domain fastlocksmithnorthvancouver.ca, to customers in North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and the broader North Shore of British Columbia. By booking, calling, or otherwise requesting our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

Fast Locksmith North Vancouver is a licensed mobile locksmith operation serving residential, commercial, and automotive customers across the North Shore — including North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Lonsdale, Lynn Valley, Deep Cove, Edgemont Village, and surrounding areas. We are licensed and insured to perform locksmith services in British Columbia. For questions about these Terms, contact us at:

2. Services covered

These Terms apply to all locksmith services we offer, including but not limited to:

  • Emergency lockout response (residential, commercial, automotive)
  • Lock change and rekeying
  • Car key cutting and programming
  • Smart lock supply and installation
  • Door hardware repair and adjustment
  • Safe opening, installation, and combination changes
  • Master key system design and installation

Services are performed by licensed technicians dispatched from mobile units. We do not subcontract work to unlicensed third parties.

3. Quotes, estimates, and pricing

We provide verbal or written estimates before beginning any job. All prices are in Canadian dollars and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Estimates are based on the information you provide at the time of booking; if we arrive on-site and find the job is materially different from what was described, we will provide a revised quote before proceeding.

Price ranges shown on our website ("from around $X" or "$X–$Y") are indicative only — they reflect typical scope for a given service and are not binding quotes. Your actual cost depends on the hardware involved, labour time, and parts required. We commit to telling you the final price before we start work.

4. Payment

Payment is due at time of service unless you have an existing account arrangement with us in writing. We accept cash, debit, and major credit cards. We do not offer payment plans for standard call-out services. For larger commercial or master key projects, staged payment milestones may be agreed in writing before work begins.

If a payment is disputed or reversed after service has been completed, we reserve the right to recover costs through appropriate legal channels in the Province of British Columbia.

5. Cancellations and no-shows

You can cancel or reschedule a non-emergency booking at any time before the technician departs for your location. Once a technician is en route, a call-out fee may apply to cover fuel and dispatch time. For emergency calls that are cancelled after dispatch, a minimum service fee reflects the cost of mobilising a licensed technician at short notice.

We will always call ahead before arrival. If no one is present at the service address and we cannot reach you within a reasonable window, we may treat the appointment as a cancellation and a call-out fee may apply.

6. Access and authorisation

By requesting locksmith services, you confirm that you have legal authority over the property or vehicle in question — either as the owner, an authorised occupant, or an authorised agent (such as a property manager or strata council representative). We may ask for proof of identity or occupancy before performing certain services, particularly residential lockouts or key duplication for restricted keyways. We reserve the right to decline service if we have reasonable grounds to believe authorisation is absent.

Fast Locksmith North Vancouver is not liable for any claim arising from services performed in good faith at the request of a person who misrepresented their authority over the property or vehicle.

7. Liability

We carry general liability insurance appropriate for licensed locksmith operations in British Columbia. Our liability for any damage caused during a service call is limited to the direct cost of repairing or replacing the specific component damaged during that service. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, latent defects, or consequential losses (such as contents of a property, loss of business income, or data on electronic access systems).

We take care with all hardware we work on. If we cause damage, we will say so and work with you to make it right.

8. Warranty on labour

Our labour carries a 30-day workmanship warranty. If a lock we installed or rekeyed fails due to our error within that period, we will return and rectify it at no charge. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse, forced entry, wear and tear, or parts sourced by the customer. Hardware manufacturer warranties are separate and are the manufacturer's responsibility.

9. Emergency response times

We quote an 18-minute average arrival time for North Shore service calls. This is an average, not a guarantee — actual response times depend on traffic, weather (North Shore roads can be slower in winter), technician availability, and your exact location relative to our dispatch area. We will give you a realistic estimated arrival time when you call and keep you updated if anything changes.

10. Privacy

We collect only the information needed to provide locksmith services — your name, contact details, service address, and vehicle details for automotive jobs. We do not sell your information to third parties. For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For services booked before a revision, the Terms in effect at the time of booking apply.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
